PACE is a unique, all-in-one English course designed for students who want to upgrade their practical English skills for working in Canada and beyond. Students can maximize their future career opportunities and build communication skills and confidence to thrive in international environments. Students will learn a combination of useful workplace vocabulary/expressions and every day English. Whether you are solving a conflict with co-workers in your country or having a conversation with a native English speaker in Canada, this course gives you the real-world language and cultural tools you need to shine!

This course is designed for students with an intermediate, upper-intermediate or advanced level of English.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

Create a clear, well-structured English resume and cover letter
Understand and respond to common interview questions in English
Demonstrate appropriate workplace behavior and etiquette

Apply
Read and understand job ads in English and match them to personal skills
Use action verbs and job-specific language to tailor resumes and applications
Navigate the job search process with increased confidence in English

Communicate
Use common vocabulary, idioms, and phrasal verbs in everyday English and workplace settings
Speak politely and naturally in various social and workplace situations
Handle phone calls, complaints, small talk, and polite disagreements professionally

Explore
Engage in discussion on a variety of useful and relevant business/workplace topics
Strengthen presentation skills and confidence through detailed feedback
Interact appropriately in multicultural workplaces and community settings

Group discussions on workplace culture in international environments
Partner and small group speaking tasks using real-life scenarios

Participation: 10%

To progress to the next level, a score of 75% is required.

Attendance Policy

Attendance is an integral part of this class. Students who miss more than 3 days per session will find it very difficult to improve or keep up.
Students unwilling / unable to complete the final presentation will not be able to advance to the next level.
