The pathway program is designed for students who do not meet the English requirements for direct entry into a Canadian College or University. Upon completion of the RCIIS pathway program, a student will be eligible to apply to one of our pathway partner schools without the need for extra English proficiency documentation.
Students who complete the RCIIS pathway program will not only have the option to apply to a pathway partner school without further English literacy tests, but will also learn valuable skills that prepare them for life at a post-secondary institution. Students will get extensive experience with academic essay writing, presentation skills, and critical thinking exercises that can be applied to their future studies.
University programs tend to be longer (4 years) and provide students with Bachelor’s, Masters or Doctoral Degrees. Universities are more focused on academic and theory based learning, and are the most expensive of the three options. On the other hand, college programs are shorter (1-2 years) and provide graduates with diplomas or certificates. Colleges focus more on practical learning and have many programs to help students learn a specific trade or job. Private colleges are less expensive for international students than public colleges are, but employers tend to value diplomas from public colleges over private ones. Many colleges also offer job co-op opportunities in your field of study.
Once you receive our letter of acceptance, you will be able to apply to any of our College partners.
No. Different post-secondary institutions have different entry requirements depending on the program. Some of our private college partners have requirements as low as Pre-Academic 2! However, most of our public pathway partners require the successful completion of our EAP program.
