Intermediate

French 3

This course is designed to build on the skills which students have gained through French 1 and 2. Students will further develop their listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills, with an increased focus on expressing opinions, describing experiences, and using more complex grammar and vocabulary. The course emphasizes both accuracy and fluency, helping students participate in a wider range of everyday and workplace conversations with more confidence and independence.

Entry Level: Intermediate (B1)
Students can manage everyday conversations, express ideas on familiar topics, and handle common social and travel situations.

Exit Level: Upper-Intermediate (B2)
Students can participate in more complex conversations, express opinions clearly, and understand detailed speech on a variety of topics.

Duration: 12 weeks

Class Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, the student will:
• Improve listening and speaking skills for everyday situations and familiar topics.
• Strengthen their understanding of basic French grammar, pronunciation, and spelling.
• Begin to use more varied sentence structures in speaking and writing.
• Express opinions, describe experiences, and handle common social interactions in French.

Evaluation

Evaluation is conducted on an ongoing basis via both interpreting the students’ progress and
achievement and administering quizzes and exams as well as giving short presentations.

There is a final exam at the end of the session.

Attendance Policy

To progress to the next level, a score of 70% is required. Students are encouraged to attend classes regularly and will find it difficult to pass if they do not. Students who miss the final exam will not be eligible to level up.
