This course is designed to help students start forming sentences in real world conversation. The main goal is to aid the students in their conversation ability as they learn to organize their sentences and build confidence using the language to communicate with their classmates and instructor. The class focuses on using a communicative approach. This means that the teacher will emphasize participation from students and give corrective feedback where necessary. Teaching methods are focused on active participation, pronunciation, and listening skills. Students will receive personalized 1 on 1 feedback from the teacher weekly.
Students are encouraged to study course vocabulary and materials outside of the class in order to accelerate their learning progress.

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Be understood well enough in basic conversations to communicate and keep the conversation going
- Structure their sentences with a subject and verb that fit the intended idea
- Organize and prepare a 5 minute presentation in front of the class while paying attention to the audience
- Create dialogues and sentences using course vocabulary
- Discuss their hobbies
- Talk about their plans and experiences
- Work cooperatively with classmates to complete speaking tasks

Attendance is an integral part of this class. Students who miss more than 3 days per session will find it very difficult to advance to the next level.
To progress to the next level, a score of 70% is required.
Students unwilling /unable to complete the final presentation will not be able to advance to the next level.
