Evening IELTS

The International English Language Testing System, IELTS is an international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers. It is jointly managed by Cambridge English Language Assessment, the British Council and IDP Education Pvt Ltd, and was established in 1989. In IELTS, there are four papers: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.

There are two versions of the IELTS:
The Academic Version and the General Training Version:

• The Academic Version is intended for those who want to enroll in universities and other institutions of higher education and for professionals such as medical doctors and nurses who want to study or practice in an English-speaking country.

• The General Training Version is intended for those planning to undertake non-academic training or to gain work experience, or for immigration purposes.

This course will focus on the Academic version of IELTS only.

Class Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, the student will:

• be familiar with the exam format for IELTS
• have learned exam taking strategies
• have practiced the skills necessary to succeed on the IELTS
• have practiced taking all parts of the IELTS exam: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking
• will have developed and improved listening skills for gist and detail
• will have developed and improved reading skills
• will have improved written accuracy
• will have improved spoken fluency
• acquire the language proficiency needed to enroll in a university at the undergraduate or graduate level

Evaluation

Students will be evaluated using a mock IELTS tests and receive feedback on the last day of each session.

Attendance Policy

Students missing more than three (3) days per session will not be qualified for certification.

Materials

Mock exams and materials will be provided to students.
