ESL Foundation

This course is designed to offer more opportunities to ESL learners to develop all four skills optimally, focusing both on accuracy and fluency. It has been established to provide students with vocabulary and grammatical structures required for everyday life, utilizing the latest teaching methodology in a fun-filled atmosphere. This successful multi -skill syllabus integrates functions with forms.
Students are encouraged to study course vocabulary and materials outside of the class in order to accelerate their learning progress.

Class Outcomes

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Build confidence in expressing their ideas about certain topics such as: food, health, weather…
• Develop listening and oral communication skills
• Be able to write about basic topics and place written information in a logical order, generate ideas and create short written outline
• Know the fundamentals of English pronunciation, spelling, and grammar
• Use basic grammar structures both in spoken and written form
• Understand language used in everyday situations if the speaker speaks slowly and clearly
• Make longer basic sentences and reply to simple questions; talk about likes/dislikes, family and routines; order a meal in a restaurant /go shopping and understand and write basic texts

Attendance Policy

Attendance is an integral part of this class. Students who miss more than 3 days per session will find it very difficult to advance to the next level.

• Interchange 1 (Fifth Edition), both student’s book and work book
• Supplementary books such as “Elementary Vocabulary, English Vocabulary in Use, Essential Grammar in Use and Oxford Picture Dictionary”.
• Teacher’s handouts taken from different sites (englishclub.com, esl library. com, etc.)
• Songs and videos on YouTube
