Afternoon Business English is a 4-week program, and the goal of this class is to teach students English language related to a business setting. There will be a strong focus on listening, speaking and writing and will include business vocabulary, useful grammar, collocations, discussions, case studies and business etiquette. Students will be tasked with creating business proposals, sales pitches, drafting memos, and participating in mock interviews. Once students complete this course they will have learned more workplace vocabulary and have a better understanding of how to function as an employee.

Students who complete Business English will have expanded their business language use, fluency, and pronunciation.
They will also have a comprehensive knowledge of the etiquette required and expectations of an employer when working in a business setting.
They should have a firm understanding of how to communicate with clients, co-workers, and other businesses.

As an elective class, there is no formal grade or formal evaluation.
There will be feedback given related to presentations, assignments and their review quizzes, as well as general feedback daily.
This class is meant to supplement the students’ standard class and build on their vocabulary, fluency, pronunciation and knowledge of business practices.
Attendance is an integral part of this class. Students who miss more than 3 days per session will find it very difficult to improve or keep up.
The teacher will copy handouts for the students to complete during the class.
Various forms of media, and materials needed to create promotions or presentations will be provided as well.
