Afternoon Speaking (Upper)

The goal of this class is to increase students’ speaking fluency, pronunciation and presentation skills, while also having a strong focus on increasing their vocabulary. This class will revolve around a central vocabulary list, while also teaching the students on where, how, and when to use new words. In order excel at the class, students will have to compile their own vocabulary lists outside of the class and study independently. Once they can master these skills, they will be ready for the next level.

Speak more fluently and confidently about a range of advanced topics including law, technology, and medicine.

Use newly learned vocabulary accurately and appropriately in discussions and presentations.

Improve pronunciation for clearer and more natural spoken English.

Organize and deliver both group and individual presentations on complex topics.

Build and maintain a personalized vocabulary list for independent study and long-term retention.

Participate actively in group discussions, roleplays, and vocabulary-based activities.

Understand how to select, use, and apply academic and topic-specific vocabulary effectively.

Attendance Policy

Attendance is an integral part of this class. Students who miss more than 3 days per session will find it very difficult to improve or keep up.
