Pre-Intermediate

Pre-Academic 1 helps students strengthen their English in preparation for academic programs such as Pre-Academic 2, IELTS, and EAP. The course develops reading, writing, speaking, listening, pronunciation, spelling, and grammar, so students can use English with increasing fluency and accuracy in the classroom, in social situations, and as informed members of Canadian society. Students build listening and speaking skills through discussions and presentations, and develop their writing by interpreting a variety of texts and writing short essays and summaries.

Students are encouraged to review course vocabulary and materials outside class to accelerate their progress.
