IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is an internationally recognized test of English proficiency for non-native speakers. It is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP Education, and Cambridge University Press & Assessment, and has been offered since 1989. The test has four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
IELTS is available in two versions:
• Academic: for students applying to universities and other higher education institutions, and for professionals such as doctors and nurses who want to study or practise in an English-speaking country
• General Training: for those planning non-academic training, work experience, or immigration
This course focuses on the Academic version of IELTS only.
