COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS

To maintain the safety of everyone at RCIIS a number of guidelines have been established for all students:

  • 1. In order to reduce the chances of spreading COVID-19, all students must wear a mask while in the school. The mask or face covering should cover your nose, mouth and chin.
  • 2. When arriving to school, please use the provided hand sanitizer at the entrance every day.
  • 3. Staff and students will be required to enter and exit through the designed routes marked on the floor of the school. This is to ensure proper social distancing and reduce the chances of physical contact.
  • 4. All classrooms will be arranged in such a way that keeps adequate space between students. Please do not move the chairs or desks without the permission of your teacher.
  • 5. To meet with school counsellors, students must either book an appointment ahead of time, or talk to them through other means (phone, social media, zoom, etc.)
  • 6. The school cafe, microwaves, and cooler will all be off-limits, so make sure to bring your own food and water for break times. Students will be asked to leave the school directly after class unless they have an appointment with a staff member.
  • 7. If you’re feeling sick or showing symptoms of COVID-19 you will be asked to leave and study online.
  • 8. Students who have been sent home sick may require a doctor’s note providing evidence of a negative test for COVID-19 before being allowed back to school.
  • 9. As we expect the in-class seats to competitive, students who are absent more than 3 consecutive days (without notice) may be asked to study online from home. Students can apply for in-person classes for the next session.
  • 10. If students studying at school are concerned about their health or safety, they may request to study online through their counsellors.
  • 11. If a positive case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in the school, all students will be asked to study online temporarily. If a student has been in potential contact with a confirmed case, they will be informed immediately.
