is a large over-arching system of connected courses with the final goal of entering a Canadian post-secondary institution.
Students may enter the pathway at multiple levels.
The lowest point of entry is our ESL Foundation program. Students who are accepted into our ESL Foundation program are at the elementary or beginner levels of ESL proficiency and are placed there after an initial placement test.
After successful completion of the ESL Foundation program, students may enter the Pre-Academic 1 course. Our Pre-Academic courses continue to provide general ESL skills, along with the techniques used in our English for Academic Purposes program. Alternatively, new students can be placed in Pre-Academic 1-4 based on their overall English proficiency.
With some of our PCC partners, students can enter directly by successfully completing our highest level Pre-Academic Program. For other post-secondary pathway partners, students are required to successfully complete our EAP or Advanced EAP programs.
